How it's scored
Every message in the trader topics of Lorax Layer VIP and Lorax Layer Elite is read automatically, including screenshots, and the site updates every few minutes. Each signal becomes one trade.
The price check
- Every signal is replayed against real market prices, minute by minute, from the moment it was posted (OANDA, with Dukascopy as a backup).
- Market orders count as filled when posted. Limit orders and entry zones count as filled when price reaches the entry, or when the trader posts that the order was activated. If price never gets there within 24 hours, or the trader cancels first, the trade is "Not filled". Not filled trades never count as a loss and are left out of every number.
- An order the trader cancels and later re-places counts from when it was activated. Partial closes don't end a trade.
- Where a level is given precisely in brackets, for example "4436 (4435.75)", the bracketed price is used.
- After the fill, the site checks whether the stop loss or each TP was hit first. If both happen inside the same minute, the stop is assumed to come first.
- Stop moves, breakevens and closes the trader posted are applied at the time they were posted.
- If price reaches a TP and the trade later comes back to breakeven or the stop, it counts at that TP, because the stop is normally at entry by then.
- Broker prices differ slightly. A TP the trader posted is accepted if price came within 5 pips of it, a stop only counts once price goes 2 pips past it, and an SL the trader posted always counts.
- Oil is priced off different contracts at each broker, often a dollar or more apart. For oil, the gap between the trader's price and the market at the moment of the signal is measured and their levels are shifted by it.
- CHECK marks a trade where the trader's posts and the price disagree, for example a TP that price never reached, or a stop loss hit that was never posted.
Pips
- Pips are measured from the entry to the level that was hit. For an entry zone, the entry is the end price reaches first: the top of a buy zone, the bottom of a sell zone.
- Gold: 0.1 = 1 pip, so 4300 to 4310 is 100 pips. Oil: 0.01, so $1 = 100 pips. JPY pairs: 0.01. Other forex pairs: 0.0001. Indices: 1 point. Bitcoin: 10 points = 1 pip.
- A trade belongs to the month it was posted in (UK time).
Mcgarry and Gunter
- The highest pip count they post for a trade is its result, and a new signal ends the previous trade.
- If a trade never reached 50 pips, or got no update at all, it counts as an SL, unless price never reached the entry, in which case it's "Not filled" and not counted. The price check is shown inside each trade for comparison.
Win rate
Wins divided by wins, losses and breakevens. Live trades and orders that never filled are left out.
